Lithium Battery News
Does the battery need an activation code?
The answer is that the battery needs to be activated, but that's not what the user has to do. The author has visited a lithium-ion battery production plant. Before leaving the factory, lithium-ion batteries must go through the following processes: the lithium-ion battery case is filled with electrolyte - sealed - formed, which is constant voltage charging and then discharging. This is done for several cycles. The electrodes are fully soaked in the electrolyte and fully activated until the capacity reaches the requirement. This is the activation process - capacity division, which is to test the capacity of the battery, select batteries with different performance (capacity) for classification, classify the battery levels, and perform capacity matching, etc. .The lithium-ion battery produced in this way is already activated in the hands of the user.
Main types of lithium-ion batteries
According to the different electrolyte materials used in lithium-ion batteries, lithium-ion batteries are divided into liquid lithium-ion batteries (Liquified Lithium-Ion Battery, referred to as LIB) and polymer lithium-ion batteries (Polymer Lithium-Ion Battery, referred to as PLB).
Memory effect of mobile phone batteries
The memory effect is an effect in which the battery content crystallizes due to use of the battery. It generally only occurs in nickel-cadmium batteries and less in nickel-metal hydride batteries. The reason for its occurrence is that the battery is repeatedly partially charged and discharged incompletely. The temporary capacity of the battery is reduced, resulting in shortened talk time. Therefore, nickel-cadmium batteries need to be fully discharged to slow down the decline, while lithium batteries do not need to be charged immediately, and no memory is required.
Twelve misunderstandings about mobile phone battery usage
Affected by the use of nickel-metal hydride batteries, many people still like to charge their mobile phone batteries after they are completely exhausted. For lithium batteries, this does not prevent the memory effect, and the lithium element activity is insufficient when recharging after the power is used up. This will affect the battery capacity in the long term.
